Working and Warring

When we talk about God’s Kingdom, many believers immediately think of ministry, charity, or evangelism. But that’s not the whole picture.
The Kingdom of God cuts across every area of life including education, business, politics, media, and ministry. In fact, all these spheres are meant to complement one another in establishing God’s rule on the earth. When one lags, fractures show across generations.
Jesus said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation… for behold, it is within you.” (Luke 17:20–21)That means Kingdom work isn’t limited to pulpits and prayer grounds, it’s happening in boardrooms, classrooms, and digital spaces too.So when we talk about warfare, we must understand it’s not only in “ministry.”
Warfare is happening in business.Warfare is happening in education, through the content of curriculums.Warfare is happening in politics, in the media, in technology.Every space where influence is shaped is a battlefield.
The Scripture says, “The Kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” (Matthew 11:12)This “violence” isn’t physical. Our weapons aren’t carnal. We don’t fight with manipulation, greed, or competition. Instead, we fight through obedience, righteousness, prayer, and divine strategy.
So, when you run your business, you’re not just working, you’re warring. Why do you think the enemy fights kingdom-minded businesses so fiercely? Why do you think ethical ventures face more resistance?
Because the devil knows that every righteous enterprise is a wall, a spiritual barrier, that keeps him from accessing certain territories.
Nehemiah’s story makes this clear. When he rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem, the opposition was fierce. Sanballat and Tobiah mocked, threatened, and tried to distract the builders. Why? Because the enemy understands territories and boundaries.
If those walls went up, the enemy would lose access. It’s the same with your business If you build as God commands, you’re securing territory. In media, in technology, in politics, in the marketplace… and the enemy won’t sit still for that. That’s why Nehemiah’s men worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other. (Nehemiah 4:17) You must do the same.
While you engage the market, war in the Spirit. While you plan your content, pray over it. While you hire people, discern carefully.Because the devil still tries to sow tares among the wheat (Matthew 13:25), planting the wrong people, ideas, or distractions to corrupt the work.
This battle isn’t about fame or money. It’s about souls. The real merchandise on earth is the souls of men. Media, business, and politics are simply channels that influence the mind, and through the mind, capture the soul.
So this is how to work and war:Like Nehemiah,Work with one hand. Build faithfully. Execute your vision with diligence and skill.
War with the other hand. Watch. Pray. Resist compromise. Stay aligned with divine strategy.
The devil is no match for sons and daughters who know how to build and battle at the same time.
War with the other hand. Watch. Pray. Resist compromise. Stay aligned with divine strategy.
The devil is no match for sons and daughters who know how to build and battle at the same time.
Work and war for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. But they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (in the media, in the cosmos). The devil is definitely no match for us, the sons of God!
Hallelujah!
