Who Are You Really Living For?

Let me ask you something: what are you doing, and who are you doing it for?
Whether we admit it or not, all of us live in service to something or someone. When you go to work, to the mall, to the gym, to church, to the park…you’re responding to a demand that’s bigger than just you.Think about it: you and I weren’t consulted before we arrived on earth. So what makes us think we’re fully in control of things?

What is Function?
Let’s pause and define it. Function is the inherent ability to perform a task for a specific purpose.Scripture makes it clear that God created all things for His pleasure. That includes you and me. We exist because God has a purpose He wants to fulfill.
Jesus understood this deeply. He said, “I do always the things that please Him.” Not sometimes. Always. That’s why the Bible reminds us that “whatever you do, whether eating or drinking, do all to the glory of God.”
But here’s the tension: the enemy works tirelessly to twist our function, pulling us toward things that displease God. That’s why in Genesis, God regretted creating man, because his heart was bent toward evil continually.
Bringing it Home
So let me ask you again: Does what you’re doing right now please God?The way you treat people, the places you go, the words you speak, even in the secret thoughts of your heart?
It’s time we got honest with ourselves: Are we functioning for God and His Kingdom, or for the Enemy and his?
Because at the end of the day, one question will matter most:Did we do the will of the Father?
